Trever Cartwright, Partner

Trever’s work focuses primarily on helping client organizations get clear, get focused and get moving on their most important strategic, organizational and operational challenges. He also facilitates high-stakes, issue-based discussions with diverse stakeholder groups where reaching a common ground is imperative in order to move forward.

Trever works across multiple industry categories, including Healthcare, Energy, Legal and Government. His clients have included Oregon Health & Science University, Port of Portland, Perkins Coie, Sacramento County and San Francisco Travel Association.

The founding partner of Coraggio Group, Trever’s diverse background includes nearly 10 years as co-owner of an advertising agency, and the leader of the national sales force for a Fortune 50 company. He is a published author and has been a guest lecturer at Harvard and Stanford Law schools, University of Oregon, Portland State University and for numerous professional associations, including the Association of Legal Administrators, Society for Human Resource Management, and the International Quality and Productivity Center.

Ashleigh Gunter, Principal

Ashleigh works with clients to solve their most challenging strategic problems.  Her practice focuses in the areas of strategy development, organizational design, performance management and strategic alignment implementation.  Ashleigh combines her experience in strategy development, an understanding of organizational culture and a practical mindset to meet her clients’ needs.

Ashleigh joined Coraggio with 18 years of management consulting experience. She worked as a Principal at the North Highland Company in Atlanta, an engagement manager with Deloitte Consulting and at Accenture, and at Point B as a portfolio manager. She has deep experience advising healthcare industry executives on topics from strategy in a dramatically changing marketplace to the operational effectiveness required to stay competitive.  Ashleigh also practices in the telecommunications, consumer goods and energy industries on a wide range of strategic, organizational, and operational areas.

Ashleigh has an M.B.A. with a focus in Strategic Management and Organizational Change from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of Denver.

Michelle Janke, Principal

Michelle advises leaders on strategy, marketing and organizational development. Her areas of expertise include strategic alignment, business planning, leadership development and marketing strategy. Michelle’s work centers around helping organizations to establish a strategy, communicate it well and align organizational systems and processes to make it happen.

Michelle joined Coraggio after six years as a management consultant in Europe. Prior to this she was an Engagement Manager with McKinsey and Company in San Francisco. She has worked internationally with top executives at retail, consumer goods, logistics and technology companies on a broad range of strategic, marketing, organizational and operational topics. She also spent more than 10 years in finance and marketing management roles at The Walt Disney Company, Bertelsmann and Deutsche Bank.

Michelle has an M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley and a B.A. in International Relations from Mount Holyoke College. She is fluent in German.

Craig Trames, Principal

Craig is a leader in facilitating effective change, strategic planning, brand clarity and business innovation. Over the past 20 years, Craig has taken on a wide range of roles with an emphasis on marketing, sales and product development, 11 years of which were spent at Nike. Afterward, Craig served as CEO of Pacific Crest Outward Bound School where he oversaw the complete brand overhaul for Outward Bound USA.

Holly Valkama, Principal

Holly works with organizations to establish and redesign business processes and organizational structures to align with their strategic direction. Holly has worked at an executive level for over 10 years, across a broad range of industries in both the manufacturing and services sectors. Throughout her career, she has led numerous successful implementations of Lean and Six Sigma in global organizations. She is passionate about integrating continuous improvement into organizational cultures and strengthening the competitiveness of organizations by linking process and strategy. Holly has an M.B.A. from The Wharton School in Operations Management and Strategy and a B.B.A. in Finance and Economics from Loyola University.

Matthew Landkamer, Principal

Matthew helps clients think through, better understand and then take action on their most important strategy, organizational change, and brand challenges. His art and design background, combined with hands-on business experience, allows him to bring a unique balance of creative design thinking and strategic rigor to each of his client engagements. He is a skilled facilitator and problem solver with an impressive ability to start the conversations that need to be had inside organizations, and among organizational leaders—
the kind of conversations that lead to valuable insights, bold thinking and needed results.

Matthew has spent 15 years leading marketing and strategy initiatives for organizations of all sizes from large companies to small, entrepreneurial ventures. Before joining Coraggio, he was a leader of the marketing group at a Seattle-based global design firm.

Matthew is a dedicated painter and exhibits regularly in the Pacific Northwest.

Lisette Lejnieks, Principal

Lisette specializes in helping organizations and teams to achieve ambitious goals. By clearly articulating an organization’s vision and building the bridge between strategy and execution, she brings clarity and effectiveness to our clients’ most important challenges and opportunities. Her experience in developing and guiding teams spans a variety of industries, business functions and transformations. Her broad background as a consultant to business and industry clients provides a well-rounded perspective on how change impacts culture, productivity and perception.

Over the course of more than 20 years in business leadership roles, Lisette has defined strategies and led major changes from all sides of the table—as a corporate executive, program manager, service provider, management consultant, and as an independent and government contractor. She has worked in multiple industries including health care, financial services, manufacturing, hospitality, professional services and non-profits. This diversity of perspective and experience enables her to ask the right questions, connect important themes, prioritize strategic choices and develop high-functioning teams.

Lisette earned an M.B.A. from the University of Denver and a bachelors degree in Political Science/History from Pacific Union College in Angwin, California.

 

Jason Carter, Associate

Jason brings a rigorous approach to research and analytics—from understanding complex industry environments and trends, to identifying industry players and uncovering and interpreting organization-specific data. After analyzing his findings, Jason translates the results into clear, meaningful communication that provides our clients the insight they need to make important strategic decisions.

Prior to joining Coraggio, Jason spent more than 10 years massaging data, researching and crafting organizational communication for a wide industry spectrum, including mergers and acquisitions, direct mail and telecommunications software.

Jason received his B.A. in English and telecommunications, and his M.A. in English, both from Baylor University. He is currently completing his M.B.A. at the University of Portland.

John Childers, Senior Consultant

John earned his JD at UCLA and began his career practicing law at a national firm. He has been a strategic advisor to law firms and organizations for nearly 15 years and is listed in Lawdragon’s 100 Legal Consultants You Need to Know.

John completed the top advanced degree program in the US that combines strategy and leadership development—Pepperdine University’s Master of Science in Organization Development. While there, John wrote his master’s thesis on culture clash in mergers. After helping to build McMorrowSavarese, the top law firm consulting practice in California, John opened the Los Angeles office for Hildebrandt International. At the time, Hildebrandt was the largest global consulting firm focused on law firms.

John understands the decision-making challenges within organizations of all sizes and offers his clients a highly developed expertise in group facilitation. In any consulting engagement, John helps firms put the most critical and challenging issues on the table and deal with them constructively.

John is adjunct faculty at the Justice Leadership Institute at the U.S. Department of Justice and is often a featured speaker and facilitator at retreats and industry events.

Angela Swensen, Associate

Angela helps to keep all of us and our many client engagements coordinated and running smoothly, plus our internal processes and systems on course. An excellent communicator, Angela brings a solid background in client relations and project management to the firm. With a BA in Journalism, and double minors in Business Administration and Communication Studies from the University of Oregon, how people think and why they do the things they do have always interested her. She successfully completed the Hertz Management Training Program and then went on to apply her natural talent for people development at a Portland-based communications training firm.
